I would like to have my mobile service payments moved to first of month every month from here on out

PM's cycle is not monthly, it is a 30 days cycle. The cycle date will move because it starts every 30 days. So, even you made it first of the month one time, the next one or two move move up 1 day and keep moving up

Pay date is variable from month to month as PM billing period is 30 days and not a month.

So even if you set payment date on 1st of every month, next month or two it will change.
