Personal hotspot is intermittent

The issue I'm having is that the personal hotspot only works intermittently. Connecting an iphone 11pro , ios 17.5.1 to an M1 16 inch MBP, sonoma 14.6. I've tried tethering/usb - this works sometimes out of the blue. I've tried untethered wifi- this also works sometimes but it can't be counted on. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Try resetting the Network Settings and try again.

@instantplaces Maybe try updating the iOS to the latest 17.6 also see if that helps maybe

This is feature of your phone and nothing to do with PM.

PM does not block or care you hotspot or not

make sure you turn of data saver and power saver

on the iPhone where you are starting the hotspot

To turn off Low Data mode

Settings -> Mobile Data -> Mobile Data options

To turn off Lower power mode:

Settings -> Battery

OK-Personal hotspot has been working today. Also my cable modem finally arrived (oxio) so I don't need to rely on the hotspot to get online. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions!
