The coverage comparisons nationally are about equal, between the shared Bell/Telus network, and Roger's network. It depends on where you are, and what towers you'll connect to, and of course, building materials of any space you may be in when you try to use it.

For example, outside my apartment building, I can get great service with all the main providers, however inside my apartment, I can not receive Rogers. quirky, yes.

Your experience will differ, but coverage for Rogers is almost the same as Telus/Bell.

Hi there,

i am really new to this community support system so hopefully somebody can help me.

I am here in Canada on a Working holiday visum, I come from Belgium and brought my european phone. It's a Archos 50 saphir (https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/00903e12) .
I got my SIM card at the wallmart were I could do messages and had data but no calling. Back home, quite remote but next to a antennae I don't get any connection at all. The other people here to receive telus very easy. Is it my phone not receiving the frequencies from Telus or what can it be?

Thanks for the answers

Laura

Unfortunately, that phone does not have 3G compatibility (required for voice calls) with Public Mobile, and has only partial 4G LTE compatibility (for data), according to this site:
https://willmyphonework.net/

@LauraFromBelgiu wrote:

Oh should have looked it up before, I should change my plan then? Is Rogers as good as the Telus one?

Depends where exactly you are. The network coverage is similar, but in some more remote areas the one might be better than the other.

Price wise, ChatR is to Rogers what Public Mobile is to Telus: The third tier prepay daughter. However, unlike Public Mobile, ChatR has quite restrictive home zones, so if you are outside a major city (indicated on their coverage map as in-zone) often you might not get the best value with them. You might want to check out if Fido (Rogers' second tier brand) suits you better.
