5G not showing

I have an IPhone 12 phone which is 5G capable. I am in a 5G cell zone in downtown Winnipeg, but only have LTE showing. I signed up for 5G, but only get LTE. I have checked settings menu but cannot get it to show up. Any thoughts on how to fix?

what is the network mode? change to 5G Auto and 5G On , try both

HI @Rupert66

What iOS version your phone has? Try to update it

Update to latest Carrier Profile as well

and Try Reset network Settings on your phone

and even not connected to 5G , test the network speed. 5G is still a myth, you can get as good the speed on 4G as using 5G network

@Rupert66 If you go to Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Options - Voice and Data, you don't see 5G on or 5G Auto there?

No 5G option, just LTE or 3G.

Current iOS is 15 will look to upgrade and see if it helps

@Rupert66 ios15 is quite old now, my iPhone is on ios17. Also for VoLTE to work on iPhones with PM it needs to be ios16 at minimum.

@Rupert66 , it should. When I updated my iOS it added 5G On & 5G Auto (I keep it on 5G Auto) & I get 5G+ on my iPhone. Plus it updated to the latest carrier profile 58.0

If you updated the iPhone 12 to iOS 17.5.1 then it should have 5G option on your iPhone.

Double check the iPhone, go to Settings>General>About and make sure it is not a iPhone 11.

iOS upgrade completed, all good, 5G active now.
