I am in the process of setting up an account, and also a separate one for my husband's phone. is it permissible to use the same referral code for each account or should it only be applied once?

yes, it’s possible to setup both accounts using the same referral code.
But, it’s better to step your account using the referral code first, then use your referral code to setup your husband account, so you will be getting 1 point referral

I agree with @EB0

Set up say... your account first with whichever referral code you may have. Then you will receive a $10 credit. Then, set up his account using YOUR referral code. This way he get's the$10 credit and you get 1 point worth $1 every month. Make sense? Please note it can take up to 72 hours for it to show on your account.

When you log into your account, on the "Overview" page, your code will be up top.
