We have recently become snow birds and want to spend several months this winter in Florida. Will the Long Distance add on's cover extended periods away from Canada?

long distance addon is for used to call from Canada to other countries

if you are in Florida, you should change to once of those Canada-US plan, you can use full PM service (voice, text and data) in US like you are in Canada. Cheapest one starts from $34 (50GB), check our My Account

(with your Cdn / US plan)...no restrictions as long as your account stays active and in good standing.

added...if planning to stay in Fl for several months, best to upgrade to one of the currently offered Cdn / US plans, as suggested already. The add-ons will only work for 15 days at a time, then you have to manually re-up each time.

Remember that you can pause your account for a maximum of 90 days. If you go over the 90 days, your account will be closed, you lost your number and the SIM will be useless.
Most people on a long period of time out of Canada switch to the $19 plan to keep the account active or better yet switch to the $34 Canada/USA plan with unlimited calling & texting & 50gb of data so your phone will work in both countries and you don’t need to purchase USA Roaming add-on.
