Will my iPhone XR support 5G? Will upgrading to a new SIM for my XR allow me to operate on 5G network?

iPhone XR does not support 5G. You can subscribe to the service, but your phone will be limited to LTE

The iPhone XR does not support 5G, best you can do is 4G LTE but it's also capable of very close to the same speeds. iPhone 12 and up and the 2022 iphone SE support 5G.

no, iPhone XR does not have 5G

however, you can still subscribe to 5G plan and you will get close to 200Mbps on 4G, almost like 5G

I'm assuming the question was in the context of whether they could get a 5G plan, even though the phone is only 4G. As @hTideGnow said, yes you can, and you'll still benefit from the faster speed that comes with a 5G plan.
