topic CAN-US plan: connection in US? in Get Support

I switched to Canada-US plan, supposed to be seemless connection when you cross the border. I chose T-Mobile as a network provider when we crossed the boarder. But it would not work unless I keep Roaming on. Does anyone know if that's supposed to be that way? Will I incur Roaming charges?
