I'm new to public mobile and registered under a new activation plan of $29 for 40gb and the terms say that prices may change without notice. Does anyone have any experience with their bill suddenly going up by a significant amount without notice?

No this doesn't happen often, personally I haven't experienced this. I believe that's just part of the fine print that they are obligated to include. I was on the same plan for 3 years and I didn't get any increases.
