I just switched my plan from a 3G to a 5G network, but my internet speed is still about the same as when I was on a 3G network. Do I need a new SIM card to get faster speeds?

In your phone settings under network settings, do you by chance have your preferred network set to 3G? What results are you getting on a speed test? Do you have strong signal? Have you tried from different locations?

Perhaps it would be noticed if one would stream movies or watch tube etc - but for my day to day use of texting, emails and sometimes using google maps I can't tell the difference . I don't think that it's PM network fault because I'm comparing PM 3G to Bell mobility 5G and again can't tell the difference.

HI @eyes on your other posts, you said you moved all lines to Bell and only left with a $15 plan here. So, it is 3G speed, maybe that's why the speed is not great?

@eyes Texting doesn't use data. Email you won't notice a practical difference unless you're emailing large attachments. Google Maps uses very little data as well. Not sure what you expected?

5G is just marketing for 99.99% of most of our everyday use cases. Coming from 3G to 4G or 5G you should notice a difference with streaming and hotspot. 4G to 5G there really isn't much practical difference, unless you're hardcore streaming, uploading video content etc.
