My plan says I have 500 ld to overseas. I am trying an Australian number and entering it exactly how it says, yet public mobile won't connect the call.

@Catrex The add-on for Australia (from Canada) is 300 minutes. Is that the add-on that you have?

Or maybe you have the Christmas bonus international minutes from 2022? That one doesn't include Australia. It includes Canada, United States, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, and Venezuela

There isn't a basic plan that has international long distance minutes without an add on

how did you make the call?

The pattern to call Australia from Canada is 011 + 61 + City Code + Local Number. But remember to drop the 0 in front of the city code

For example, calling Sydney, it has a city code of 02 but you only put in a 2, so it would be 011-61-2-xxxx-xxxx
or to call a cellular number, the "city code" would be 04, but you put in a 4 only, so dial 011-61-4-xxxx-xxxx.
