Hi, I would like to know if I need a new SIM card to switch to 5G. my phone is 4G, can I use it for a 5G plan? Thanks.

@Nancy2022 As long as your phone is supported for 5G, you can switch to a 5G plan and start using 5G.

No you don't need a 5g sim card. Yours will work just fine! If you are on a 5G plan, even you are connected to 4G network, you will have a speed higher than the capped speed of 100Mbps on a 4G speed plan.

A 5G phone isn't required to use a 5G plan. Any phone that works at Public Mobile will work on a 5G plan, but I do agree that a 5G network capable device is required to connect to the 5G network.

Hi Nancy. You should need a new SIM card to switch to a 5G network. I didn’t. However, can you tell me what phone model you have?
