Personal Hotspot Problem

I am having problems keeping my personal Hotspot on. I have an IPHONE 6 and an IPad. I have the Personal Hotspot turned on permanently on the phone. In order to get it to show as a Wifi connection on the IPad I have to go into the iPhone Personal Hotspot, turn it off and then on again. It then works for a few minutes and then kicks out again. I have to repeat the process to get it tethered again. This is workable, but an inconvenience to deal with

This could be an iOS issue. Try it with another phone if you have and see if it acts the same.

@Karen1 I don't have any iOS devices, but with Android, there is a setting to automatically turn off the hot spot if it's not in use for 5 mins:

I think it's there for two reasons: (1) security, and (2) battery life. Maybe iOS has similar?
