WhatsApp - unable to receive verification sms to complete setup. Help!

I am unable to verify my Whatsapp account during setup due to not receiving the associated sms.

I am at a loss as to what the problem is. Could it be that public mobile plans do not accept international texts?

They definitely do accept international texting, @Cindy88

But only while you are within Canada.

Is this a new Whatsapp account? Are you able to receive other texts?

Maybe try a reboot of phone. Remove and then reinstall Whatsapp account.

You can have the 2FA code from WhatsApp sent by texting or calling. Wait until countdown is over and you have these options.

@Cindy88 I’m having the same problem. What’s worse is I thought it was the phone number’s fault so I kept changing and now I have no more number changes left.

Has anyone found a solution? On iOS 17.4, other SMS verification codes come in perfectly fine, just not WhatsApp! Going crazy here…
