I recently set my friend up on Public Mobile. He was given a temporary phone number before his was ported. Now whenever he texts me and some of his other friends, the temporary phone number comes up, not his ported number. I can set a text to his ported number but when he responds, it's associated with the temporary number. I have tried deleting the numbers and recreating to no avail. Help! It's very frustrating as I often call from his texts but the number is not in service.

can you call him with the correct number? It looks like the port is not completed

so, important thing is not text, as the text can be iMessage and not sms. Call his old number and check if his Public Mobile phone rings

it is best to ask CS agent if the port was completed
