@Parker2: All plans currently offered by Public Mobile includes free SMS and MMS internationally and therefore there's no extra fees at all.

There are no additional fees if you are sending SMS/MMS to the USA from Canada but the person in the USA must have a Roaming plan to reply back to you.

@BKNS27 Not quite. In this scenario you're referring to a Canadian who is in the US and needing to text back; in that case the OP would just be texting a Canadian number, so the whole question is moot.

The OP sounds like they are trying to text a US number, which is included with their PM plan. The US individual would need a similar plan, that has international text, to be able to reply back (not roaming), and that's a pretty good bet.
