Talk Time Add-on

I purchased an $8 200 talk time minute add on yesterday. Today, I still cannot use my phone for calls, the automation says "Talk time is not included in your plan." And yet, when I check my account online, it says my add-on is "active".

To use an addon for long distance (that is exactly what you've purchased), you must first have a voice selection on your base plan. If you didn't select a voice option (or selected no voice), you can not use the addon.

@jaygunn2012 if you already have a talk plan and if you are still having issues with your add-on, then please send a private message to the @CS_Agent to get help.

In your message to the mods, please include:

- explaination of your issue

- your phone number

- your account number

- your account PIN (if you remember)

@Exactly what @stonechucker mentioned. The cheapest 30 day talk time base planpwith no text is $22 ($20 with auto pay enabled). You will need to buy that in order to use your long distance add on.

That add on is not for "talk time". It does not include any airtime minutes that you can use. If you don't have any airtime in your calling plan, you can't make calls. Unfortunately, you have purcahsed an unusable add on. This add on simply makes it so that you can make long distance calls if you already have a regularly voice calling package.

Public Mobile really shouldn't allow people without a calling plan to purchase this add on though.

@computergeek541 I know, right? Trust me, I and many others have asked PM to block that on many, many occasions. Doesn't seem to be coming any time soon, sadly.

Since Telus is so greedy, why would they fix it? It’s free money for them to collect, as if the subscriber doesn’t bother to understand the system, why prevent them from causing themselves to pay more?

Hello Commuinty!

I just have a quick question. Let’s say you had the $10 plan 50 minutes. If you were to add the 200 Canada and US add on would it use your monthly minutes first or does it use the add on first?

The add-on is used after. It would only be used first if you call the usa.
