You can port in a number being used by another service, but you cannot designate a particular number, only a series of similar numbers with the requested extension.

you meant can you get a specific number? If you own the number with PM before and you lost it not long ago, and the number is not assigned yet, it might be possible. But if you never oen that number, turn likely not.

Yes, possible. Just port in the number from another carrier into PM.

make sure the other carrier account is active. Then go into Public Mobile My Account, Profile page and click Transfer phone number and enter the account number to request porting
