Hello I want to ask why I can’t receive text or call when I’m in the United States?I know i can’t call or text but I think I can received right?thanks

Critical part to US roaming depends on T-Mobile/AT&T coverage and whether you can connect successfully onto either network.

If the phone is not connecting to T-Mobile/AT&T, change the Network Connection from Automatic to Manual and select and test both T-Mobile and AT&T and see which one you can connect.

If your issue is with data, make sure your Roaming Mobile data is enabled and you have disabled your mobile data limiter. Also change your network mode to 4G (and don't try 5G until you can connect and works on 4G)

If your issue is with voice, make sure VoLTE is enabled on the device setting. And if it does not work, try to change the Network to T-Mobile ONLY, and change Preferred Network Type or Network Mode to 2G and see if the calls go through.
Also, you can download VoIP app TextNow as a workaround to make calls and text if you have Wifi or if your roaming has data component and data is working

You will need a Canada/USA plan or you need to purchase USA Roaming plan if you just have the Canada plan.

can you confirm if your phone connected to T-Mobile or AT&T?? MAKE sure network mode is set to 4G and not 5G

Hello @Dencio

If you set your phone directly to say T-Mobile and reboot, getting text message without a roaming add on is hit and miss. If you're using an iphone, you will not get iMessages because they require a data stream. You'd have to change it from iMessage to text in your settings. Hope this makes things more clear. Worse case, you can always download TextNow with a local number to where you live and just use that while your on WiFi or you can go to Wally World and pick up a data only card to use.

@Dencio You will only receive SMS while in the USA. No calls. And of course without a plan or add on you cannot call out or send SMS. All contingent upon being hooked up to the correct network that others have alluded to.

- Can+USA plan OR
- US add-on

you can have service in USA. Otherwise - no service.
