You will need to download Public mobile app on your new iPhone. Then purchase a new eSIM card via the app. $5 cost.

If you’re signing up you should see the option for either a real SIM, which costs $5 right now, or for an eSIM at $0. Select the eSIM and it should guide you in the setup. I did mine through the app on the iPhone and was pretty seamless.

If he's JUST signing up then yes, the eSIM is $0.00 however if he's already with PM then it's $5
