Starting new plan with a future date?

Hi everyone, just switched over to the $34 40GB plan from Freedom mobile. I have a couple of questions:

My current plan with Freedom will be done by December 24th. I already purchased the $34 40GB public mobile plan and have been charged. Is there anyway for me to start my plan with Public Mobile on December 25th? Do I just simply activate on Dec 25th or is there another process?
How do I go about porting my phone# over from Freedom to PM?

@raeann242 if I were you I would do it on the 22-23 couple days before freedom ends both accounts need to be active to port to so I would activate PM sim couple days early so if there’s problem it’s not holiday hours trying to get fixed . But you can port the number in on activation of PM sim or pick a temp number from PM and port the freedom mobile number in after in your account .

To clarify, although I have already been charged for the first cycle it won't actually begin until I activate the PM sim in December 22-23?
