Will the 5G subscription plan work if I have an older iPhone that does not have 5G? What will happen? Will it just have 4G compatibility and what speed would be used on the subscription plan when you run out of data “the slower speed”.

yes it will.

Regardless of the plan you have every subscriber can in fact freely access PM's 3G/4G/5G networks

The 3G/4G/5G plans are In fact just plans with different top speed. 3G has a max transfer rate of 3Mbps, while 4G at 100Mbps and 5G at 250Mbps. So, a 5G plan will give you more data and allow you a top speed.

In your case, without a 5G compatible phone, you can only access 4G network, but you will get much better speed than what 4G plans will give you, in fact a near 5G plan speed of close to 250Mpbs

The lower speed if you run out of data is 512 kbit/s
