Only in a situation where you had an esim would you have to purchase a new one. This is the best advantage of having a sim card.

Absolutely! That's the beauty of physical sim cards! It'll save you the hassle of having to activate a new card. If you had an ESim, you'd have to purchase a new one with your new phone however.

Hello from my understanding yes you just swap the sim from your current phone to your new phone. And it should automatically work
