I, on 3 occasions now have switched over to different plans. At no point have I lost any rewards. There is a page for rewards where you can switch over to the new Public Points system. Only YOU can switch over to the new system. Never switch over!

Hello,

Currently I am on the old type of plan where you get discounts for referrals from friends and family but I want to change to a plan that is currently offered. If I change my plan, will it force me into the new points plan setup? Any help would be appreciated because I don't want to lose my referral bonus.

Thanks

@nikkieknits

You actually don't lose your referral bonus's on the new point system. The $1 per cycle is simply converted to 1 point to cycle (1 point = $1)

However, the biggest loss when switching to Public Points is the loyalty aspect of rewards.

On Public Points, the max you can get is $10 (10 points) per year.

On the Legacy Rewards, after 5 years, you get $60 per year.

So for that reason alone, Legacy Rewards is superior to Public Points.

Some might argue the 5% bonus on Public Points gives more than the auto-pay discount reward. Sure, if one is on the $65 plan they will get $3.25 worth of points each cycle. However even over 12 cycles that only gives one $15 more rewards per year than the auto-pay discount.

So if you plan on sticking around for more than a few years, the Legacy Rewards remain superior.

Your rewards will stay as is as they are tied up with your account and not plan.
