US Roaming

I do not have a 5G Plan and I want to purchase US Roaming but I am concerned about the quality of service. I presume that I will be on 3G and thus have limited/terrible service.

If I upgrade to 5G will I automatically get improved US Roaming service ?

hi @Alecu1 US roaming addon has no connection with your current speed plan (3G or 4G or 5G), everyone can buy US addon and can access the same LTE network in US (AT&T or T-Mobile). In fact when you are in US, better choose LTE or 4G for better connection (So, you are on 3G plan , you can still buy US addon and can access US 4G network)

I have a 3G account myself. When I was in the US I had no problems and the calls were crisp and clear... except when I went into Costco but eh... I think that's everywhere.

@Alecu1 text and data should be fine for talk the biggest thing is if your account /phone has voLTE , you can test this by putting your phone to LTE and make a does the phone stay on LTE or drop to 3G

Thanks Handy1, I checked to see if my iPhone makes an LTE call and it does. I presume that this means that I should not have a problem using VOLTE in the U.S. Is that correct ?

@Alecu1 yes that’s correct calling shouldn’t be issue for you if you have voLTE enabled . Should be seamless for text data and calling when crossing the border , enjoy your trip 🙂
