Wondering what the general process is. Do i just sign up with public mobile and they will automatically keep my old number and switch it from my old provider to them (going from physical to esim) or do i need to discontinue service with my old provider first? Thank you

Sign up with PM, indicate you want to port your old number over when it comes to selecting a number. Leave your old sim in your phone. Your old provider will send SMS asking you to authorize the port. You have 90 mins to reply yes.

First, Welcome to PM.

You need now your old phone account number, that's few digital numbers, than transfer you old phone number to Public mobile in ten minutes by app.

Call you pre provider, ask for you account number, and some phone provider's App already list account number.

Confirmed that once you complete the port to your account will automatically be closed at your previous provider. Do not close it yourself or the port won't work.
