You'll be able to receive text messages while you're in the US. To send outgoing text messges, you'll need a plan that includes roaming or you'll need to purchase a raoming add-on. In the absence of one of those, you won't be able to send text messages.

There are NEVER any extra charges around here, @netminder57

As a pre-paid provider, you are only able to get what was previously selected and paid for. With post-paid providers, there can very well be roaming or long-distance charges which may surprise unsuspecting users.

If you require US services with Public Mobile, you need to pre-purchase a US Roaming add-on, or select a Canada-US plan from the plan offerings.

Yes, you can text and make calls if you use WhatsApp or TextNow app through wifi.
