Upgrade phone put my old sim in phones says no SIM put it back on the old phone N SIM what da ?

Sounds like your phone crapped out or the SIM card crapped out. Can you try your SIM in a different phone?

Sounds like the new phone’s sim tray isn’t registering or the sim is damaged or broken. Maybe check the sim in a different phone.

@Roarcam22 I didn't quite understand...did you say when you put it in your old phone it DID or DID NOT work?

Try cleaning the contacts of the SIM card, then gently reinsert it again. Restart phone.

@Roarcam22 I should have asked..does your new phone have 2 sim slots? If so, try the SIM card in the other one.
