Hi,

How recent is this coverage map?

Rogers coverage maps show 5G in Irricana (Alberta), but Public mobile show 4G or 3G only.

So what can I expect when I signup for a 5G plan at Public mobile?

@Arendonk

Public Mobile uses Telus towers (also shared with Bell) so taking a look at their coverage map it looks like it’s all 4G Coverage around Irricana.

Do know with 5G plans vs 4G plans the only real difference is the speed cap that you will have. If you have a 5G plan you can get speeds up to 250Mbps whether you are on 5G or LTE, with a 4G plan you are capped at 100Mbps for speed. What it’s going to come down to is how fast of speeds your plan, your device, and your signal will allow you to go. So even if a device is only 4G LTE capable there is a possibility of you experiencing faster speeds with a 5G plan as long as your device and your signal strength allows it.

Take a look here:

https://www.telus.com/en/mobility/network/coverage-map
