cannot retrieve voicemail from my phone. It always says call failed

Confirm your phone has correct vmail number set up (to call when you press and hold '1' on your phone).
Call your vmail from another phone to see if you can access your vmail at all.

Did you set up voice mail very first time from your mobile phone? It cannot be set up from 'another' phone but from your mobile. Will use minutes if you are on $15 plan.

a quick fix is to click Reset All Networks on your phone

If issue persists, try calling any of the numbers on this post

If it works, change your Voicemail access number on your phone. You can usually change it from the Setting menu on your dialer
