I am going out of Canada for 1 year but i would like to keep my phone number i just wanted to know how to do that and what is the cheaper way to do that.

@Maxars127 change to the 15 plan and turn off auto pay (subscribe ) paying attention to your renewal date and the account can stay suspended for 90 day before the account get closed so in the 85 day make manual payment for 30 days and the let it go suspended again for another 85 days before making manual payment again and just keep repeating that process untill your back to Canada . This will cost you $5 a month to keep you number

Turn auto subscribe off/on

Or if you know the 4 digit PIN numbe

The idea of the "monthly" cost actually averages out to $3.75 per "month" (plus a few pennies for 85 days). You could also port your number out to a number parking service like Numberbarn for $2US per month.

You could also pay using muskbird.com's RTR option.

Porting out would close the Public Mobile account and lose any rewards/points though?

...muckbird.com's RTR option ?...does customer need to call the 855 number to add voucher number or does voucher go direct to PM from muskbird ?

@hairbag1- @LitlLdy found the option. It's the same as going to a Mobil store and using the instant top up/real time payment method. Straight into the account.

@hairbag1… @dust2dust is correct, that’s how I do it for my account! 🙂

Edit: To add that I have not used it on an account that isn’t active though so the experience may be different!
