if I want to make a call in the states do I turn off my airplane mode and turn on roaming?

@Megs78 you need to have roaming US add-on to make and receive calls, but you don't really need to turn on data roaming, it is only for data access, unless your roaming add-on you got included data . And make sure you are connected to T-Mobile or At&t

If you have a roaming add-on or Can/US plan you just need to make sure that data roaming is on and that you connect to T-Mobile or AT&T. If one doesn’t work manually connect to the other and then reboot your device.

You will need to purchase a 15 days U.S. Roaming bundle for you to call and text when you connect to T-Mobile or AT&T network on your phone. You need to disable Airplane mode and enable cellular roaming.

You can also download the TextNow app and pick a secondary number to get free calling and texting through WiFi.

Or if you are WhatsApp, you can call or text through WiFi too.

I personally use the TextNow SIM while in the USA.
