Anyone else find it strange?

As a consumer, we see offerings like, $25 for 1GB at 3Mbps speed, then $39 for 20GB at 100Mbps, then $45 for 40GB at 250Mbps... how come the gap is soo extreme between low tier service and high end with absolutely no middle?

Would there be a service provider in Canada that can have 10,15,20,25, and $30 price points for less than 20GB caps at 100Mbps speed? Maybe something like 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 7GB, 9GB???

@IWorkForRogers1 You can get 20 GB for $34 which is cheaper than you can get 5-10GB for anywheres else . For 4G speed

I agree. I do get good value with my $34 / 20GB plan, but more options would be great! 😊

I think some people forget that it was not that long ago you would pay $40 for 5GB here and that was good deal for long time , so to expect that same amount 5GB for less then that when you can get 20GB for less then that , there simply seems to be no reason to offer the 5GB for say even $30 unless your one of the lucky one that got special promo text for the 5GB for $20 even then you had be on a $15 plan to get that offer in a effort to upswell the monthly spend . It’s business 101

So it all boiled down to a "no reason to" cliche? Seems rather simple to open up middle tier services to many millions of people who would be able to afford it, rather than not afford it at a $30-40 hit per month + Justin's 13% tip. We could welcome a group of people to the mobile internet community for which they did not care for before.

@Circus I think it’s quite simple offer these select plans to people that have been on lower priced plans for years in an effort to upsell there monthly spend . @IWorkForRogers1 $30-$40 plan price is still considered middle of the road spend and comparatively cheap still today and yesterday for the in market plans . Cheapest plan you bet with Telus today is still $85 and that’s with 80 GB so it’s like prices haven’t really changed that much they just keep adding more data to the plans instead

i don't find it strange, sometimes too many plans create confusion. Chatr has a long list of plans, I never have the patience to go through them all and I find it hard to find what I need

And PM had big gap before between $25 to $40, and 1GB data to 15 or 20GB, but they try to fill the gap by sending the invite to existing customers. It is a good move and try to claim people

I think people talks about discrimination too much. Marketing and Advertising is always about target audience. I see it nothing wrong for PM to offer some goodies to selected group. People not invited are not happy, but this is what targeted promotion for.

I think the thing to remember is if the carriers took each individual and said ok lets Taylor a plan specific for you instead of a one size fits all approach then it would bump heads with profits . And their in the business of making money not dreams comes true

@IWorkForRogers1 , if your community nickname is accurate then you should know that your company flanker brand carries a $30/3GB plan option. This year, Public Mobile made a huge marketing pivot targeting high data usage customers. It is hard for any brand to cater to the entire market. As consumers, we should remain informed and vote with our wallets.

And even that plan is only 3G speeds I’d still rather pay $4 more for 4G speeds with 17GB extra

Totally agree. Up until January 2023, I was holding onto a 2016 fall promo that cost $40 per 30 days for 4GB. I switched to a $40/15GB plan, then to $39/20GB plan, $117/90GB plan, and finally $102/60GB plan. I think we have seen massive cell plan deflation this year. It speaks to the effectiveness of this brand's pivot to offering high data usage customers with great value. I would not rank myself into the high data usage camp, but I am satisfied with saving 15% during a runaway inflation environment.

@will13am I to followed this very path of plan changes with the exception of the 2016 fall promo , instead it was from the 5GB for $40 3g speeds then to 4G speeds same plan 15GB $40 >20GB $39 >$117 90GB 90 day finally $10260GB 90 day
