US Roaming Fees

Hello, I am quite new to public mobile and bought a 3gb roaming package to the US. Does the roaming package take effect immediately after purchased? Additionally is there any extra charges for using data (ex. Pay per day?) Or does the data just not work without a US package? Thanks in advance

The package starts the moment you purchase it. The package itself is only for IN the US. So you only get to use that allotted 3GB there. Once your out of data, it's out. If you have remaining data and come back to Canada, you're unable to use it and it flips back over to whatever plan you have here. Hope that made sense.

the US Roaming options last for 15 days starting successfully adding to your account. No added costs for use...data will not work w/o the add-on although you may recieve texts, but you won't be able to send texts.

it takes effect immediately after the purchase. The roaming addon will work for any active plan

the 3GB has a 15 days expiry

PM is prepaid, so, you pay ahead. If you used all 3GB, then it will just stop working. If you need more, and if it has not been 15 days yet, you have to submit ticket with CS agent for them to help to reply.

@Jert Yes it starts immediately after purchases . And no no extra charges for roaming .PM is pre paid . So you cannot be charged for something you haven’t purchased .

Welcome to Public Mobile!

In future if you know you have a planned trip to the US you may find it more economical to schedule a plan change on next renewal to the $50/40gb Canada/US Roaming plan for the 30 days that cover your trip. You can schedule a plan change on next renewal back to your usual plan ( as long as it's not a grandfathered legacy plan as you will lose it forever with any plan change).

What is your phone's make and model? Do you know if it's been provisioned for VoLTE? If not you will only be able to use the more limited coverage of the 2G network with T-Mobile in the US for your voice services. Text and data will work on the 4G LTE or 5G networks.
