Example, freedom just started offering the same US/CAN plan for $45. I am just curious if public tends to follow the trends of their competitors.

Thanks Everyone

But PM gives you points back for paying your bill . And every year for loyalty and with friend referrals . And use these points to redeem money off your bill 15 points for $15 off phone bill

I would have to agree, the only reason public is offering the $50 US/CAN plan is because of Freedom I think.

So I thought to myself maybe public will continue to match whatever freedom offers just to stop anyone from porting over.

Seeing as PM's $50 Can/US plan is basically a copy of Freedom's, there is that possibility. Also since the buyout of Freedom they now offer unlimited partner coverage in Canada as well, so reception isn't as much of a barrier as it used to be. So let's keep our fingers crossed 🤞🤞

That said, and to someone else's point, with points/rewards it is still cheaper here for many of us. For example my $50 plan is $44 before community rewards.

I just took a look at that Freedom offer you referenced, and if I'm reading it right the $45 includes the "digital discount", but that there's another $5 discount for BYOD which is for 24 months. So the total price of this plan would be $40/month for the first 24 months and $45/month thereafter? Great deal. It took PM a while to match them last time (outside of Quebec), but maybe there's hope here!
