Hi all,

I just joined Public three days ago, and purchased a new iPhone 7 to do so. I had been enjoying the service for three days, and then randomly it dropped all cell service (calls, texts, data, everything...(Saying 'no service'). I have tried everything under the sun (updating APN settings, resetting the entire phone). Under the 'about' section it says "phone not allowed", I purchased the phone directly from apple, and it WAS working for three days....any idea what happened, and how to reficty? Can provide IMEI and phone number to PM mods.

Thanks

Whenever you get on-screen message such as "no service" or "emergency calls only", checking APN settings is a waste of time (as I'm sure you're already realized). Correct APN settings only allow you to use the internet and send multimedia messages (MMS). APN settings can be totally wrong or even not set at all and you'd sitll be able to make/receive phones calls and text messages.

"No Service" can be the result of a few things. There could be a temporary network issue in your area. You'l also want to make sure that the IMEI of your phone has been placed on the national blacklist and that it also hasn't been put on a Telus' internal listed of blocked IMEI numbers. An issue specific to your account is also possible (such as the system accidently cancelling your service somehow).

Thanks for the reply.

I've swapped SIMs with my roommates (Telus, Fido), and they are all working. My boyfriends Public Sim isn't working in this phone. The phone was from telus (and has been unlocked by them). All other providers work, and Public WAS working until today. Any insight why Public would randomly stop working? My account has been paid in full, and my number has been ported without issue (Telus ported the number, and unlocked the phone for me).

Yes. It seems to be getting Public Mobile on my new iPhone 7. My boyfriend is with Public (using a Oneplus 3), and neither of our PM SIMS work in this iPhone 7.

I just ran the IMEI into the Public Mobile 'getting started' checker, and its showing up as "lost or stolen", which is literally not possible, because I am the origional owner, and have the receipt to prove it...(not to mention it is working with two other carriers, and it WAS working with PM until ~10:00 AM this morning, when it randomly stopped working.

That is really bizarre....as the phone was working, unlocked, and is CURRENTLY working on other providers. I have proof of purchase, and photo evidence of it working (on different providers), as well as NOT working on PM. Strange that it worked for ~72 hours, and then randomly stopped....I will follow up with mods. thanks.
