Why is my data being used while I am connected to wifi? This happens most nights when I am not using my phone and at my home connected to wifi.

PM does not update the data usage constantly. In fact, it only update it twice a day.

So, any entry you see is just a total usage between that timestamp and the timestamp of the previous entry. The evenig usage you see on the Usage log does not mean it was used during that evening hours but a total usage for the last 12 hours.

Also, for correct usage reading, always use Incognito mode to login My Account to avoid reading cached old info

Your data usage is updated twice a day by PM. One around noon and the other around midnight.
The data is minimal for the update.

Thank you that makes sense. However would it (data timestamp?) show more than once? This has happened more than once, thank you

it is possible. for mine, it does not really show every 12 hours, too

Again , the idea is the timestamp is not important, it is not really the usage at that moment. it is a total. Also, the posting is usually couple hours delayed

If you want to know the more updated usage, the usage show on the Overview page is a more live usage without much delay

It could be the settings onon your phone. Most phones have an option to automatically switch to mobile data if the wifi connection is unstable. Have you checked those settings on your device? This setting is normally turned on by default.
