Password Reset issue somewhat fixed

Hey Community,

I am informing you that the long due self-serve password reset issue has been fixed but not completely. I requested to reset the password by clicking on Forgot Password link at 10:40 AM and i received the email at 11:02 AM. The link stayed valid for about half and hour or so.

It can be improve a bit by less delay to receive the email, but at least it now works without contacting mods via private message.

Thank you Booke_C and the PM team for finally fixing it.

EDIT: Seems like this is a big YMMV. Hopefully they can figure out the permanent fix for this.

EDIT2: Now, this fix has improved. My last 5 tries on 2 different accounts, i received the reset password link email before the link expires. So give it a try again see if it works for you.

EDIT3: It has improved significantly. I successfully received the email within a min of requesting.

EDIT4: As of Feb 28th, i am not receiving emails on time. Looks like it broke again 😞

@NDesai hopefully it stays fixed. A month or so back I also received the reset password in time. But a couple days later it was again not working.

That's great news, good to see that Public Mobile is working on fixing towards fixing some of the bugs.

@NDesai had to try it. At 1 hour and 2 minutes for the email arrived. Time limit expired.

Maybe it only works for the first request of the day 🙂

Uhmm. I just requested again. Let's see how long it takes this time.

Still not email. Seems to be a hit and miss 😞

@mimmo @SD08 Can you guys give this a try again see if you receive the link before it expires?

EDIT2: Now, this fix has improved. My last 5 tries on 2 different accounts, i received the reset password link email before the link expires. So give it a try again see if it works for you.

Yes, the password reset seems to be fixed now. I tried it two times, ten minutes apart. Both times, I received the reset e-mail within a minute, and the reset links worked.

Hopefully, it stays fixed and that will be one less thing that customers constantly need help with.

LOL the reset works when it feels like it. It's like roulette, you have a significant chance of winning, but the odds always seem to be stacked against the customer.
