Sim card not working in new flip phone

I am having trouble with my LG smartphone and I purchased a new flip phone from Wal-Mart online and the sim card doesn't work in it. Any ideas what the problem would be?

What model Flip phone? Should work with Public mobile but there might be issues with compatibility.

Walmart tends to purchase American phones because they are cheaper and sell for profit up in Canada. Also, if it was one of those Marketplace purchase, very good chance it's an American phone. You want to purchase a phone here in Canada. If you have a Costco membership or know someone who does, this will work good and it's reasonably affordable.

Went there but didn't work I'll try it again later. And the card works cause my LG smartphone is still working just got screen messed up also got the loan of another flip phone and it works in there.

Yes I ordered on Walmart.ca and I tracked my phone and it had to go through customs.
