Emergency calls after sim card inserted in blacklisted phone

SOLVED - had to reset the network settings and its fixed 🙂

I have just purhcased an open box Google Pixel 7 from Best Buy and after setting up the phone I got a SIM 1 not allowed error. After reading about solutions I checked the phones IMEI and its been blacklisted, so I'll have to work through that with Best Buy. However, now that I put my sim card back in my old phone it says emergency calls only.

Is that related to the sim card having been in a blacklisted phone or is it a coincidence? Can the sim card be cleared to work again? This is my business phone so any solutions to get my old phone working again would be greatly appreciated.

@bcwaterlily I’m thinking this is just coincidence. But try first rebooting the old phone with SIM card in it and or reset network settings and see if that helps with your services

If your old phone is indicating SOS or emergency calling only then the phone is not reading the SIM. This could be that the SIM is not seated in the tray correctly or it could be a provisional/backend issue with the SIM.

Best to contact a CS_Agent by private messaging to investigate.
