Noticed PM advertise $5 for an eSim - I thought that Esims are digital. Also can any phone use an esim. I have an older iPhone 8 .

@Old4 iPhone 8 is NOT eSIM compatible

yes, eSIM is digital, the $5 is more admin fee. Most providers charge that, some are free for activation only

and currently , it is free on PM for activation as well

@Old4 Esim is only for. New activations only . Right now it’s free for new activations also . The iPhone should be compatible with esim but you can check with support to make sure

@Old4 and only the following iPhones have eSIM :

iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 and after
