Esim doesn't change the roaming situation. PM offers roaming in the US only, with applicable add-on. Without an add-on you can receive texts for free in the US, but won't be able to reply.

your PM account will only work while in Canada or USA with a roaming add-on. Without the addon you might rec texts but you won't be able to send texts without it.

So, if you are planning to go outside of USA, you will have to rely on Local Prepaid sim card, or Travel eSIM. Add VoiP app TextNow to make/send calls and texts for free. But for 2FA text, you will have to arrange to change to recevie by Email or Authenticator app insead
