combining US roaming add on data plans...

Hi, when purchasing a 10 day us roaming package that includes data will PM combine two plans together to get the total amount of data?

for example, I want to get the US roaming 1gb data plan and the us roaming tak and text 250mb plan....if I purchase them at the same time will PM combine them so I get 1.2gb data along with my talk and text or is it once one 10 day plan expires the other one kicks?

I have tried myself but I believe both add-ons will theoretically combine the data but will also just expire after 10 days at the same time, assuming you activated them on the same day. Someone more knowledgeable can chime in and correct me if wrong.

Unfortunately, US roaming addons do not have a time delay mechanism. Once purchased, the 10 day clock starts to run. So, buying two addons means two addons are active immediately and will expire at the same time. Some customers have resorted to adding money into the account before leaving the country and then dialing in th make the purchase when in the US.

thanks PJC and will13am for the info on the start time of the addons. I am planning to buy the US roaming 1gb and US roaming talk and text 250mb, so just to clarify...I think what I am hearing is that the data add-ons do get combined together so if I purchase the 1gb and 250mb (with talk and data) I should get the 1.2gb data with talk and text? the start time I can control buy waiting to purchase the add-on in the US whe nI arrive to my destination, as will13am suggested...

@Jamesa99 I'm 98% sure what you're proposing is correct and you will have 1.25 GB to use during the 10 day period. One annoying limitation is that *the same* add-on cannot be added again within the same 10 days. So, if you were to run out of your 1.25GB and want to add another 1GB, you'd have to wait until the end of the 10 days for it to re-appear in the purchasing page. I suspect that because the talk+text+data bundle will have also added the 250mb add-on to your account, should you run out during the 10 days, the only option it will give you to add more is the 500mb add-on. Just so you are aware.

What I usually do personally is get the talk+text US Roaming bundle instead of the talk+text+250mb bundle, and then also purchase the 1GB US Roaming data add-on as well. If you don't anticipate needing more than the 1GB, this is a cheaper option.
