why would it not let me login into new portal with old password used computer generated one worked ?

@alex190 - so a computer generated one worked, well that's good. So you logged in then. Upgrades needed new requirements on your account I guess.

Did you have to create a new nickname too, if you want your old one back submit a ticket to CSA. They can get it back for you.

Does your password meet the password criteria? I can't remember what it is exactly but it'll be min length, uppercase letter, lowercase letter and number. Maybe it'll need a special character like punctuation.

Edit: these are the criteria your password needs to meet.

Passwords must contain:
Minimum 8 characters
At least one number
At least one capital letter
At least one symbol like # or !
Cannot use dictionary words, personal data, email address
Can’t repeat more than 2 identical letters or numbers in a row (AAA or 111)
Can't use your past 5 passwords
