Hello Public mobile family question about the 5G plans does it need to be with a 5G phone only or will it just downgrade speed to 4G for other phones right now I have a 6s but soon want to upgrade to a 8 or Xr or a 11 iPhone or maybe a android so any help on this would be appreciated a lot!

Thanks all

It’ll work with the lower iPhone, but you may not get true 5G compatibility/speeds.

Perhaps consider staying on a 4G plan until you have a device capable of 5G, and then switch to 5G.

As others have said, the plan speed doesn't affect which technology you use.

In other words, a "4G speed" plan can work on 3G/4G/5G, but it will be throttled on 4G and 5G to 100 Mbps. Similarity, "5G speed" plans will work on 3G/4G/5G, but will be throttled to 250 Mbps on 4G/5G.
