Data being used at odd hours

I'm surprised not only to see how my data is being used but also the time of day at which is reportedly being used (sample in picture below). In what time zone are those times reported? At those times I'm always home (Calgary, AB) and my phone automatically connects to our home wifi, which is always available.

Besides, I cannot think of any background process in my phone that would consume 10 or 20 MB at a time.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Public mobile data usage is not actual live reporting. Summarizes the data usage throughout the day and usually reports late at night. I see the same thing on my accounts.

PM updates your usage twice a day. Around noon and around midnight.

The reporting of data consumption is not representative of the time of use of the data.

It is representative of the cumulative data consumed within the preceding 12-hour period, combined into a total value, reported on the usage screen twice daily.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I'll keep an eye on that because I'm also surprised at the rate that my little data balance is being depleted lately. I got a newer phone, but I already configured things, so that only a few apps use Cellular and most of the time I connect to home or public wifi's.

I haven't changed my usage habits, but lately it's using up almost all my monthly data allowance and that was never the case. Good thing I have some bonus data still unused 😁
