Hi @southernhills porting from VoIP and landline definitely needs a proper address filled in. So it is better to activate with a temporary number first, then open submit a ticket and provide CS agent all the information (proper address) to assure a successful porting.

I have 2 issues.

1. I want to register for a new account but I want to bring my current phone number with me. When I try and port the number the registration process askes for my current address on file with the previous provider. My address is not a standard address type ie. #### Letter Letter Letter St/Ave. We use ### North/South ### East/West. But the input only allows digits for the street number and letters for the street name.

2. My current provider is a VoIP service called Line2. Can this transition be handled via self serve? or will this need a customer support ticket?

Once activated, open ticket with support for a manual porting request

@southernhills

Check to see if your number can be ported from this Koodo website (Telus owns Koodo and Public Mobile), so, same allowances here:

https://secure.koodomobile.com/checktransfereligibilityparrot/default.do?lang=en&appname=otherportal

Porting from voip should be able to be done via My Account or during activation of SIM card if number is portable. Where are you porting from, what company?

Voip ports can take 3+ days, maybe even over a week. Expect a mix of services on the landline and Public Mobile SIM card until port is complete.

When the incoming calls stop on the previous provider’s SIM card and/or landline/voip account, that is a good indication the port is complete.

If issues during the process, submit a ticket with Public Mobile representatives (CSA) for help; click this link for issues with transfer/porting of phone numbers over to Public Mobile.

See helpful info. here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/port-fraud-protection
