I have heard that if one is experiencing slow data speeds they should try to reprovision their SIM card.

How is this done? Does transferring one's account to a new SIM do the trick?

I’ve had one done once with my ISP, and it did make a difference.

If you're switching plans then you would need to know that there's a 48 hour delay before the new plan speed would take effect. So you switch up to a 4G plan (remember, 3G and 4G here is all about speed) a couple days later you should see the faster speed. Switch back down to a 3G speed plan and a couple days later you should see the slower speed. But in those couple days you would still have the speed of the prior plan.
