I thought with volte introduction, coverage in alaska was a possibility. Any word on this? Alaska cruise season is coming up.

I would be gong to Juneau, ketchikan and sitka. It worked in 2019 when i went but now apparently it doesn’t.

I think the problem with Alaska is T-Mobile coverage. I haven't heard of AT&T returning since volte.

volte was only recently "activated" on some PM customer phones. There's been no feedback yet from travelers if it helps. You're invited to let us know if it works for you.

If you get the US Roaming add-on and it doesn't work as expected...I think PM will credit your account when you get home.

Thanks everyone. My cruise isn’t until end of june so i think i’ll check in then. I have a dual sim phone and can buy an at&t sim card from amazon. Sorry to do that public mobile but when you don’t provide the service i have to look at other options.

Anybody have an update on this? Going on a Cruise in a few weeks, and wondering if it is worth activating a US add-on.

Was going to go without, since there are not many other options. As far as I can tell, I'd have to get a US sim with AT&T or CGI service. Not sure it's worth it for the 3 days we'll be in the US. Nothing like Roam Mobility anymore unfortunately.

@mabba18- I have not seen any updates regarding Alaska. Until we hear people connecting to AT&T like we used to be able to, no, there's no T-Mobile for us there. Get a voip app and use wifi on board or on shore wherever wifi is available.

@mabba18 honest, it is not an outage so we don't exact a quick change to Alaska situation. AT&T has not be a PM roaming partner for sometime, for whatever reason. So, getting a local data sim is the only way to get connected if you definitely need it.
