how to call Switzerland?

hi everyone,

i tried to call Switzerland today, but got an automated from PM saying it's not possible...which i don't think is the case for my phone as i've purchased several $15/400mins packages, and i've called China a few times already.

Switzerland is also listed in this compatibility chart:

the number starts with +41 43

which is what my Android phone entered...is there something else i should be entering before/instead of these digits?

any help for me to call Switzerland would be great. thank you

You are looking at the *OLD* chart (with 41 countries if memory serves)

Switzerland not being on the up-to-date country list ( @kav2001c has copy/pasted the official one above, the one you linked to is a comparison chart by a community member who suggests that the list should be expanded), I think using a VOIP service is your only option.

If it's a business call Skype springs to mind, for personal use I'd give the voice option on WhatsApp a try - its use is quite wide spread in Europe.

I'm sure there are plenty of other options.

Number in question appears to be a landline in Zurich

Yes, I did assume that too then remembered the times I spent helping folks to get data working only to find they had not activated cellular data!

@Acekiller multiple times... there are at least 4 different international lists (actually Public also used to let us pay per minute without an add-on at one time)

Nothing has been announced.

I would just go about paying someone else for your long distance needs. There are different online long distance companies who will sell long distance airtime balances, many of them with local access numbers. In addition, various instant messaging apps can be used to make calls using an internet connection.

Cut the list down ALOT (more than half, used to call around 40 countries and now...)

Public Mobile, flat-out, does not allow calls to be placed to Switzerland. Trying to use different dialing formats unfotuantately can't change that. The only way to call Switzerland for Public Mobile customers would be to user a third party long distance calling service.
